If you subscribed to Monarch through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you can switch to billing directly through Monarch on the web. To switch, cancel your app store subscription, let it run until the end of your current billing period, then resubscribe on the web. Only the billing source changes. Your budgets, accounts, transactions, rules, and other data stay the same.
Note: Cancel your app store subscription first. While an app store subscription is active, Monarch blocks a new subscription to prevent you from being charged twice.
Cancel your app store subscription
You’ll keep access to Monarch until the end of your current billing period.
Apple App Store
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Monarch, then tap Cancel Subscription.
Monarch can’t refund payments made through the Apple App Store. If you need a refund, contact Apple.
Google Play Store
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture in the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Tap Monarch, then tap Cancel subscription.
Start direct billing
Once your app store subscription has ended:
- On the web, go to Settings > Billing.
- Select Resubscribe.
- Choose your plan and billing frequency (monthly or yearly).
- Enter your payment details and submit.
Switching billing sources doesn’t start a new free trial, so you’ll be charged when you resubscribe.
Tip: If you use the Android app, resubscribe from a web browser on any device. The Android app can’t open web billing.
