How to add, organize, and edit widgets on your iPhone.

Available widgets

  • Budget
    • The budget widget shows actual monthly spending or income compared to the budget for the category. The ring shows what percent of the budget has been used, with the remaining amount next to it.
    • If using Flex budgeting, the widget will default to showing the 'Flexible' category when added to the home screen. If on Category budgeting, the widget will default to 'Groceries' or the user's first budgeted category alphabetically. You can edit the widget to change the category.
    • You can also hide the dollar amounts. In that case, only the ring of progress is shown.
    • To track a Group budget, select any category within that Group, and the widget will show the Group budget.
  • Transactions
    • The Transactions widget shows a simple list of either 3 transactions (medium size) or 8 transactions (large size). The widget can be set to filter transactions by:
        • Needs review
        • Most recent
        • Uncategorized
  • Investments
    • The Investments widget lets you track the price change of all your investments, both for today and over the past 30 days. The larger widget will also let you compare your portfolio to a market index. You can then select which market comparison to use:
        • S&P 500
        • US Stocks
        • US Bonds

Apple widget hints

  • There are no limits to the number of widgets you can place on your screen. You can have multiple widgets of the same kind, but with different settings to track different items. You can even fill an entire screen with nothing but widgets!
  • You can drag widgets on top of each other to create a "stack." By doing this, multiple widgets will only take up the space of a single widget. Once stacked, you can swipe up and down through the stack to quickly view multiple widgets in the same space.
  • If widgets don't appear, try updating the app (or deleting and reinstalling). The widget picker in iOS sometimes doesn't allow apps to show up right away.

Android widget hints

  • Some Android devices (like Samsung) allow you to drag widgets on top of each other to create a "stack." By doing this, multiple widgets will only take up the space of a single widget. Once stacked, you can swipe up and down through the stack to quickly view multiple widgets in the same space. This is not yet available natively within Android and isn't yet offered with Pixel phones.
