What happens after you refresh
When you select Refresh all, a progress bar appears at the bottom of the screen showing how many accounts have synced (for example, "Syncing 3 of 29..."). This stays visible while syncing is in progress so you're not left guessing. Select Show details to see a full list of each account and its sync status.
You do not need to wait for syncing to finish — you can dismiss the progress bar and keep using Monarch. Syncing continues in the background.
Why hasn't my data updated after a sync?
There is a difference between when Monarch syncs with your data provider and when your financial institution actually sends fresh data to that provider.
Think of it like checking your mailbox. Monarch can walk to the mailbox — that is the sync — but if the post office has not delivered new mail yet, the mailbox will be empty. This does not mean something is broken. It just means your institution has not sent new data yet.
Apple FinanceKit accounts
Accounts connected through Apple FinanceKit will show as Up to date during a Refresh all. These accounts use a different sync method, so per-account progress tracking is not available right now. Your data still syncs normally — this only affects how progress is displayed during a Refresh all.
