You can move budget amounts between your categories while keeping the total budgeted amount for the month the same. This can be helpful if you overspend in one category, but still have available funds in a different category.

You can move money to and from any category that is presented within a red or green "pill" icon.

For example, if you have overspent your Shopping category by $65, your budget will show a red "-$65." To accommodate this, you can move money from another category where you have funds available. To move the funds, click on the negative number.  You will see a pop-up box that allows you to select the category with more money and specify the amount you want to move from that category.

Pro tip: If you are regularly seeing an overspent category, double-check that your transactions are categorized correctly so that they hit the correct budgets. Learn more about our Transaction Categories and Transaction Rules.

Note: When using flex budgeting, this feature is only available for the top-level flexible bucket and cannot be used for categories within the flexible spending bucket.
