Connect your Apple Card, Cash, and Savings accounts to Monarch to view your latest transactions and balances without waiting for monthly statements.
Note: You can only connect Apple Card using the Monarch mobile app on an iPhone. Only one Apple Card credential can be connected to Monarch at a time.
Set up your iPhone first
Your Apple Card needs specific permissions to sync in the background. Take a minute to check these settings before adding your account.
Update your software
- Install the latest iOS version on your iPhone
- Download the latest version of the Monarch app
Enable Background App Refresh
- Open the iPhone Settings app
- Select General > Background App Refresh
- Find Monarch and toggle it on
Enable Notifications
- Open the iPhone Settings app
- Select Monarch (or Apps > Monarch)
- Select Notifications
- Toggle Allow Notifications on
Without device-level notifications enabled, your Apple Card will only sync when the app is open. Enabling notifications allows background syncing throughout the day. You can still customize which notification types you receive within the Monarch app.
Tip: Avoid force-closing the Monarch app from your recent apps list, as this stops background syncing.
Connect your Apple Card
- Open the Monarch app on your iPhone
- Select the + Add account button at the top right of the Accounts tab
- Search for "Apple Card"
- Select Apple Card, Cash, and Savings
- Follow the prompts to grant access and select your accounts
- Choose how far back to import transactions
- Wait for the sync to complete
Your Apple Card will now sync automatically in the background.
About Total Balance
The balance in Monarch may differ slightly from Apple Wallet. Apple provides Monarch with your Total Balance, which:
- Does not include pending transactions (unlike Card Balance)
- Includes Apple Card Monthly Installments if applicable
You can view your Total Balance in the Apple Wallet app by tapping on your card.
If you already have an Apple Card connected
If you previously connected your Apple Card, reconnect it to use the most reliable sync method:
- Add your Apple Card again as a new account
- Use the merge account flows on desktop to transfer transaction history and balances
- Hide or remove the old Apple Card accounts
